Bishop Herman Brown, Sr., husband of Burdell Brown, after a short illness went on to be with the lord on Monday, July 3, 2023. Born on Wednesday, June 2, 1943, to the late Alice and Herman Brown, in Laurens County, Georgia. At a young age, he attended Peabody High School and worked at the Cotton Mill in Eastman, Georgia. After leaving Georgia, he moved to New Jersey where he met Burdell Brunson, the love of his life in 1965. It was love at first sight. The two married in 1966 and lived up to their vows, “Till death do us part”. Bishop Herman Brown worked at the Singer Company in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He also worked as a bus driver for New Jersey Transit. Bishop Herman Brown was called to ministry and started his first church in 1993 in Linden, New Jersey. Then he started another on Catherine Street in Elizabeth, New Jersey, before moving back to Eastman, Georgia, in 2005. Bishop Herman Brown was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Brown, father, Herman Brown, son, Harold West, brother, Herbert Brown, and by his sister, Annie Lee Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 57 years, Burdell Brown, children, Mary Alice (Marcus) Brown, John Tuff, Johnny Tuff, Scotty (Audrey) Whitten, Donna Keys, Salina Ford, Andre Keys, Marie West, Jessica Brown, Herman (Cassandra) Brown, Jr. and Hermina Brown, one surviving sibling, Minnie Lee Eluett, 22 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
