Funeral services for Mrs. Pearlie M. Langston, of Eastman, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 11 AM at the graveside at the New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, 3127 Fountain Road in Cadwell. Reverend Donald Way will deliver the eulogy.
Born on Wednesday, October 5, 1932, as Pearlie M. Cummings, she was the daughter of Charles Cummings, Sr., and Cora Thomas Cummings. She joined Burches Gift at an early age, and she later became Mother of the Church. Mrs, Langston was employed as a custodian at East Laurens Middle School, a Foodservice cook at Southwest Laurens Elementary School, and as a housekeeper for the Cranfords and for the Thomases.
Mrs. Langston passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022. She was preceded in death by her son, Elvis Langston.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Vanessa (Charles) Wright of Cadwell, Georgia, her son Qweon Grant of Cadwell, Georgia, and brothers, Patrick (Pam) Wrease of Eastman, Georgia, and Roosevelt Cummings, Sr., sister, Louise Cumming of Rochester, New York, grandchildren (and great-grandchildren), Maurice (Shawnteze, Shawnise King, Bre’Ucharea Bonner), Tammie (Taurean, Neccia, Isabella, Carolina, Rogelio King) all of Saint Petersburg, Florida, David George (Detine Nash) of Cadwell and Eastman, Georgia, Zachary George (Zanyliah) George of Cadwell and Dublin, Georgia, Tierra George of East Dublin, Georgia, De’Andre George of Pooler, Georgia, brother-in-law, Crawford Butler of South Carolina, sisters-in-law, Effie Phillips, Lillie Mae Holton, and a host of other nieces, nephews, nephews and friends.
And, as she would say, “TAKE THE LORD WITH YOU!”
