Steve Dassie

Funeral services for Mr. Steve Dassie, of Los Angeles, California, will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11 AM at the graveside in the cemetery at the Saint Mark Baptist Church in Eastman, Georgia. Reverend Noah Robinson, Jr., pastor, will deliver the eulogy.

Steve Dassie was born on Friday, May 28, 1965, in Augusta, Georgia, to the parentage of the late Charlie, Sr., and Addie Dassie. Steve grew up in Eastman, Georgia, where he graduated from Dodge County High School in 1986. He continued his education at the Chattahoochee Technical College where he received his associate degree in business management. He was employed with the Marriott Hotel in Atlanta for many years. He then transferred to the Marriott Ritz Carlton in Los Angeles, California, as a Maintenance Engineer where he worked for 27 years.

Steve Dassie transitioned from his early home to eternal rest on Friday, July 28, 2023, at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Los Angeles after a brief illness.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dayjon George, his parents, Charlie, Sr., and Addie Dassie, sister, Linda Dassie, brothers, Melvin Dassie, and David Dassie, and by his nephews, Benjamin Dassie, Maurice Phillips, Jeremy Dassie, and the Dassie twins.

He leaves to cherish his memory four sisters, Lettie Dassie of Rochester, New York, Mary L. Samuel, Patricia (Lamont) Ashford, and Debbie Williams, all of Eastman, Georgia, five brothers, Charlie, Jr., (Linda) Dassie of Cadwell, Georgia, Larry Dassie and Donald Dassie, all of Eastman, Georgia, Jonathan Dassie of Dublin, Georgia, and Idi Amin Dassie of Atlanta, Georgia, one special, Jessie Mae Simpson of Tifton, Georgia, he grew up with, and special nephews, Melvin Butts and Tyrone Dassie, a special niece, Brandy Williams, one special aunt, Jessie Mae Simpson of Tifton, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral arrangements are ensured by the Hamilton-Burch Funeral Home of Eastman.
